In 2022 I was invited by Ikar gallery to complete and display my series of digital paintings which manifested as my second solo exhibition ::: “Basilisk Dissolution”. Thematic inspiration came to me from Hesse’s “Demian”, a work that had fascinated me since I was a kid. In contrast to my first exhibition where I explored various artistic mediums, these paintings I dealt with more philosophical concepts such as morality, self-responsibility and pain. It was an investigative, and sensible experience through 22 digital paintings.

This series explores feelings of depersonalization, anxiety, and suffocation from conformity and other social factors. Through my artistic style, I sought to convey a sense of entrapment and suffocation under the weight of societal expectations and norms, evoking feelings of alienation and disconnection.

The exhibition draws on Jungian psychology and Nietzschean philosophy to examine the Shadow, repressed desires and impulses. The Basilisk symbolizes the apex of evil; the title gestures at transformation through confronting the darker aspects of self. The paintings translate subconscious symbols from dreams into digital form, reading that integration as a precondition for authentic goodness.
