Light

“Light” was my first solo exhibition, which I realized while finishing art-school and turning 18. It was held in the creative space “New Renaissance” in Belgrade, and it dealt with thinking about using light rays as a medium for drawings. The collection had 20 works exhibited, 15 of which were digital collages and 5 were long-exposure photographs.

The technique I used can be called “digital collage”. For my works that year, I took pictures of lights and molded them to create a clear figure. Then I used that abstract form of light to create a clearer figure. The motives and subjects for my works came from dreams, hallucinations and meditations.

Preparing for “Light” was a labor of love, taking up about eight months of careful planning. I have been preparing the exhibition for about eight months. It took me those eight months for the collages, and I made a selection of the photographs I took in 2018.
